Refunds
What can be refunded, what cannot, and why. Participation is free, so this page only concerns the paid digital packages.
Participation costs nothing
Creating a Human Vector, receiving a Human ID and a Digital Seed, and appearing in the final dataset are free and always will be. There is nothing to refund because there is nothing to pay. This page applies only if you buy a digital package.
What you are buying
A digital package is a digital product; it is not a donation and it is not a purchase of trees. No file or document is delivered with a package today — money taken before launch pays for building the event. NIVΞCTOR separately commits company funds to finance the number of trees shown for the package.
The withdrawal right, and how it is waived
In the EU and the UK a consumer normally has fourteen days to withdraw from a distance contract. For digital content delivered immediately, that right can end once the buyer expressly consents to immediate delivery — but our checkout does NOT ask for that consent today. No purchase has therefore waived anything: the fourteen-day right stands in full.
Turkey
Under the Turkish Distance Contracts Regulation, digital content supplied immediately in non-material form is outside the right of withdrawal. The same consent is taken at checkout for the same reason.
Refunded regardless
The waiver covers a delivered product working as described. It does not cover our mistakes. You are refunded in full, without argument, if you were charged twice, if you were charged and the product never became available to you, if the product does not do what this site said it does, or if the charge was not made by you.
Trees are not affected by a refund
A tree commitment created by a purchase is an obligation NIVΞCTOR took on, not a service held over you. If your purchase is refunded, the commitment stays with NIVΞCTOR. No money has been sent to any organisation to date; once it has been, it will not be clawed back out of a forest.
How to ask
Write to the contact address shown at checkout and on your receipt, with the purchase reference — never card details. The cases in the paragraph above are settled without a case-by-case judgement. Anything else is answered in writing with a reason. Nothing can be purchased yet, so there is nothing outstanding to refund.
If the seller of record is a payment partner
For international card payments the seller of record may be a merchant-of-record provider rather than NIVΞCTOR directly. Where that is the case their refund terms also apply, they issue the refund, and their name — not ours — appears on your statement. That name is shown at checkout before you pay.
